About Us
Welcome to Cycle2Learn

We are by no means professional cyclists. At best we can be called enthusiastic amateurs, and proud South Africans who just want to make a small difference.

Our first challenge is to complete every inch of the gruelling 12000km Tour D'Afrique cycle race from Cairo to Cape Town and raise R180 000 for a rural school in the Eastern Cape in South Africa.

For this challenge we have partnered with non-profit organisation Phakamisa, which has done valuable community work in the Eastern Cape before, and which brought the plight of Hebron School near East London to our attention.

The R180 000 will allow Phakamisa and Cycle2Learn to build and equip two much-needed classrooms for Hebron School. A school filled with passionate teachers and children; it simply lacks basic infrastructure.

We need your help in the following ways:

1)      Donate by buying 100km of the race at R1/km

2)      Pay it forward! Tell everyone you know about us!

3)      Follow our adventure with our newsletter!

4)      If you’re adventurous, join us for a leg of the race!

Cycle2Learn was formed by Bruce McPhail and Tim Gane as a fundraising organisation to improve the education for those less fortunate in South Africa.
